Ecuador: Narcotics trafficking on increase at Guayaquil port

All seaports are vulnerable to coastal profile traffic of alkaloids, and the terminal port of Guayaquil Simon Bolivar in Ecuador is no exception. Wladimir Leon, head of the Narcotics Police of Guayas, indicates that in the first six months of this year the amount of drugs seized and confiscated exceeded all of last year.

According to Leon, from January to June 2012 have been seized 6 tons 658 kilos of cocaine, while in 2011 had 5 tons 658 kilos of cocaine, and by 2010 the figure reached 653 kilos a ton. Read Article
