Ecuador: Ministry of Health warns risk of Chikungunya virus spreading

elcomercio.com reported the Ministry of Health reports 2,603 people infected in Ecuador with the chikungunya virus. The ministry is warning there is a risk of spreading throughout Ecuador. The virus is spread by the same breed of mosquito that carries the dengue virus. Esmeraldas Province has had more than 1,000 cases. There have also been a number of cases in Guayas, Manabi and El Oro Provinces. Read Article
