Ecuador, Guayas Police Seize Drug Amount Tops 2010 Figure

According to ElUniverso.com the Counternarcotic Police of Guayas have seized over seven and a-half tons of drugs within the province of Guayas. In 2010, seven and 300 kilos of drugs were seized. The police say that the figure government measures are aiding in toppling drug traffickers and their organizations. Last week, 55 kilos of drugs were seized. The police chief of Guayas province says the police are trying to find patters within drug organizations. However, when patters are discovered, news ones are established. ElUniverso.com reports that airports and ocean ports are used for international drug trade, while the mail service transports small amounts of drugs. Last Thursday 12 kilos of drugs were found when transported to a LAN Airlines plane. Three employees of the Andes Company were arrested. Andes is responsible for transporting luggage from the baggage area to the aircraft hold.Read Article
