Ecuador: Cases of dengue and malaria increase on the coast

Overall, since January 1 are 280 cases of dengue, including severe than previously known as hemorrhagic fever, in Guayas (103), Manabi (79), Los Rios (69), Gold (29) and Esmeraldas ( 12). In addition, 6 of malaria reported in Esmeraldas (4) and Los Rios(2). Cases of dengue and malaria in Costa increase as winter passes and with it recorded heavy rainfall causing rivers to overflow and cause the impoundment of water which then become breeding grounds for mosquitoes that transmit these diseases.
