Ecuador: Breast cancer leading cause of death for women

Among Ecuadorian women, breast cancer is the leading cause of death with a rate of 35.4%, followed by skin cancer with 32%, according to a report by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). The figures are higher in Quito, where eight out of 100 women, aged between 25 and 64, die for that cause, according to a 2010 report by the INEC.
