Ecuador averaging 39 aftershocks a day since April 16th massive quake

lahora.com.ec reported Ecuador has registered an average of 39 daily aftershocks up to 6.8 magnitude, the devastating earthquake of last April 16, said Wednesday, May 31, 2016, the Geophysical Institute (IG) of Quito. “So far we have a total of 1,745 aftershocks since the earthquake of April 16,” the IG said in its latest report. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake six weeks, which ravaged towns of the Ecuadorian coast ago, left 673 dead, 9 missing and 6,274 injured, according to President Rafael Correa.
