4.7 magnitude earthquake in Manabí

(EFE) .- A magnitude-4 earthquake was recorded today in the province of Manabí, southwest of Quito, without causing damage or casualties, the Geophysical Institute reported.

According to this institution, the epicenter was the city of Calceta, in the canton Bolivar, to a depth of 13.20 kilometers.

The tremors are frequent in the coastal region of Ecuador, which last year was shaken by an earthquake measuring 7.8 magnitude on the Richter scale, which left hundreds of casualties and extensive material damage. EFE Read Article
