Drugs Seized in Quito, Ecuador

ElComercio.com reports that during a presentation by law enforcement on Thursday, police informed the media that they recently seized 34.4 kilos of alkaloids in nine separate raids throughout the capital. Police report that 13 arrests were made in connection to the raids where the drugs were going to be sold in illegal trade deals. During a raid, police confiscated 1.3 kilos of marijuana. The chief narcotics operating officer, Guido Aviles says that the marijuana was part of a load, 26.9 kilos seized in Santa Rita on June 11th. In the other raids, police say they found cocaine, which was divided into doses and large packages. More marijuana was found in the same form of packing as the cocaine.Read Article
