Drug trafficking ring dismantled in Copiapo, Chile

Police in Copiapo, Chile arrested 8 individuals in connection with a drug trafficking ring operating in cities throughout the country. The arrest occurred after one suspect attempted to flee police at a vehicle checkpoint, resulting in a chase and capture. Rectangular packages of drugs were found in the backseat of the truck. The passengers attempted to escape but were found shortly and arrested for drug trafficking. The intended destination of the drugs was Coquimbo. Investigators then headed to this area, where they found a lookout car with three members of the same organization.
