Drug trafficking family arrested in Sahagún, Colombia

National police captured a family running drug trafficking operations in Sahagún, Colombia. Jorge Eliécer Basilio Giraldo (44) was arrested, as well as his wife, Mary Luz Berna Flórez (36), and son, Yeferson Basilio Bernal (20). Many people in the Sahagún community knew of their drug activity but refrained from reporting them out of fear, El Universal reports. Finally, after surveillance and monitoring activity, police arrived at their house, where they disrupted the family operation. 100 grams of marijuana were discovered, 50 grams of cocaine base, 50,000 pesos, scales, an accounting book, and other items.
