Drug ring broken up in Argentina; known to ship cocaine from Buenos Aires to Europe

Eight people were arrested and 15 kilos of cocaine were seized after security forces broke up a drug trafficking ring attempting to send the drugs from Buenos Aires to Europe. The drugs were found after seven home raids and were in various forms, including capsules and powder. Officials also seized precision scales, equipment used to compact cocaine,  money, cell phones, weapons, ammunition, and documents of interest. The ring is known to market cocaine locally in Buenos Aires and Argentina, in addition to shipping it to Europe via drug mules. The investigation began several months previously after a Bolivian was arrested in the Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires for attempting to transport drugs to Spain. Read Article
