Drug deals occurred near school in the Dominican Republic

Two men have been arrested for selling drugs near a school in Los Guaricanos, Santo Domingo. Luis José Betancourt Vizcaíno had been registered in the criminal tracking system seven times previously, while the other suspect, in the criminal tracking system seven times previously, while the other suspect, Carlos Manuel Mercedes Barbosa, had been a known drug dealer in the Simón Bolívar y Las Cañitas neighborhoods before operating in Los Guaricanos. Residents near the El Batey School had complained about their activity, leading to the arrest. When caught, the pair had 150 grams of cocaine in their possession. They operated out of a Chevrolet Tracker, which was seized by authorities along with cell phones, bullets, and a significant amount of money.
