DEA infiltrated the organization responsible for constructing submarines for Colombian and Ecuadorian mafias

Clan members are originally from Puerto Asis, but established themselves as lords and masters throughout the southern Pacific coast from the 80’s. Gradually extended their dominions from Tumaco (Nariño) to the border and set up clandestine shipyards in Ecuador. The patriarch of the network, Mauner Mahecha, the ‘Old’, was a partner of drug traffickers as Gonzalo Rodriguez Gacha and the brothers Miguel and Gilberto Rodriguez. This man now run from the authorities, that follow the steps for a year and a half. The key to get to the guts of the clan was an engineer who was part of the DEA, who infiltrated the network with the support of the Police and the Colombian Navy. Read Article
