Costa Rica: Telephone companies barred from charging for caller ID services

Telephone companies can not charge users for services Caller ID or private number. The Superintendency of Telecommunications (Sutel) determined that these services are a right of user and should be free.
Currently, each of these facilities costs ¢ 250.
Also, the 202 freed Sutel tariff schedule services so now is at the discretion of the operators if they charge or not. Among these is the reconnection of service for nonpayment which has a cost of ¢ 1,520 million. Read Article
