Colombian Army Accidentally Shoots Eight Civilians

As reported by rcnradio.com, the military of the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán opened fire on a vehicle transporting two families. Of the 15 passengers, 8 suffered injuries. An unharmed passenger states that she and her family were driving towards her father’s farm when the army began to shoot the vehicle. Despite pleas for the army to cease fire as they were civilians, they continued to take fire. Three of the victims were seriously injured while the other 5 suffered minor injuries. According to Ricardo González, a doctor of the emergency room of Medilaser Clinic in Florencia, one of the seriously injured, a 2-year-old boy, had to undergo a laparotomy, and the results of his recovery are still uncertain. Another woman suffered a wound in the left lumbar region. The other 5 with minor injuries are under medical observation.
