Colombia, Mayor of Bogotá Asks for Police Force Increase

•The current Mayor of Bogotá, Clara López Obregón, asked for an increase of 4,000 police officers for the Colombian city.
•According to El Espectador, in 2009, López Obregón, who was then secretary of Government, stated that the city needed 6,000 more officers in order to secure the safety of the 7 million citizens.
•Currently there are 18,700 officers including 5,000 bachelor officers. Read Article
