Colombia, child labor grows 35%

The number of workers aged between five and 17 years in Colombia rose from 786,300 in 2007 to 1,050,147 in 2009, which means an increase of 34%, according to a study by the state Department of Statistics (DANE) reported that Saturday.
In his research, DANE said that during that period, the rate of child labor increased from 6.9% to 9.2%, which meant that 263,847 children joined the world in irregular Colombian labor. Read Article
