The world of crime in Colombia relies more than ever to scopolamine, a poison that turns people into ‘zombies’ docile. In South America has been dubbed the ‘borrachero’ or ‘breath of the devil’.
The scariest aspect of the consequences of this drug, odorless and tasteless, is their suggestibility, as it makes people consciously let the thieves take it all. Embassies around the country continue to receive reports that criminals serve drinks or cigarettes contaminated with tourists and residents in public places to incapacitarles temporarily.
