Chile plans on paying couples married fifty years a cash bonus

President of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, today enacted a law that anticipates the payment of a “Golden Anniversary Bonus” to couples celebrating 50 years of marriage and widows or widowers, and before it receive up to 2013 and 2014.

This cash was introduced in 2011 as a tribute to those who meet five decades of marriage. Since then, the benefit has been delivered to over 48,000 marriages and nearly 5,000 widows or widowers.

The bond involves a single payment of 257,000 Chilean pesos (about $ 537) per couple and 128,500 (about $ 268) to widowers and widows. Read Article
