Chile: number of homes victimized by crime up 31.1% in 2011

An increase of 2.9 percentage points suffered households nationwide have been the victim of a crime, reaching 31.1%, according to data from the National Survey of Urban VIII of Public Safety (ENUSC) , which was released this morning by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

After knowing the numbers, the Secretary of Crime Prevention, Christopher Lira, said in 2011 “the country was absolutely extraordinary demand on public policy, with more than 5 thousand events, particularly concentrated in the metropolitan area, which brought a number significant of citizens and many of whom have experienced episodes of great violence and antisocial behavior. ” Read Article
