Ecuador: Nine Women Murdered result of domestic violence so far 2017

Every day, an average of 45 complaints received by the Prosecutor’s Office of Guayas for intra-family violence, which has as its main protagonist the woman. A victim who – in the worst of scenarios – ends up being part of the femicide statistics.

With eight days to the end of the first month of 2017, nine women have been murdered in the country by their husbands, co-workers or ex-partners. A last case was discovered yesterday morning, on a dusty road near the quarry of Cerro Sin Cabeza, eight minutes from Nobol. Although, until the closing of this edition was unknown the causes and the author of the crime, the authorities investigate the fact like femicide, the tenth of the year.
