Chile: Bolivian drug-trafficking gang condemned to total of 67 years in prison

Six Bolivians were sentenced to a total of 67 years in prison for crimes of drug trafficking in Chile. 86 kilos of cocaine, valued at 1.29 million pesos, were involved in the case, La Tercera reports. During the first half of last year, officials in Chile learned that the Bolivian Germain Jairo Aguirre Gutierrez was directing a drug trafficking ring with his partner Juana Carrillo Zarate from prison, where he was serving a 5-year drug trafficking sentence for crimes in 2008. The organization had worked to traffic cocaine from Bolivia and into Chile through the central area of the country. It was to be processed in Quilpué for later distribution. Read Article
