Business Transactions Between FARC and Correa and Deposit of $400,000

Per report by eltiempo.com , a study of archives by the International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS) has revealed two drafts that FARC and associates made to Jorge Brito to aid the Correa campaign in 2006. In a document reviewed by the IISS, the Electoral Tribunal of Ecuador found some inconsistencies in the candidate’s campaign accounts. However, the investigators did not conclude an alliance between FARC and Correa. In letters from ‘Juan’ alias of Gustavo Larrea, ex Minister of the Interior of Ecuador, to Liberty, alias of Raúl Reyes, asserts the importance that Ecuador play a part in liberations and that the government would not combat FARC on the border. A letter from November 2006 from Raúl Reyes to Manuel Marulanda reveals that Brito would serve as a link with the Correa administration and set up direct contact with FARC. Read ArticleJR
