Brazil, population numbers continue to increase, 5th in the world

Brazil’s population increased 0.85 percent in the last year and totaled 192 376 496 inhabitants in July according to a forecast released yesterday by the state Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). With its more than 192 million people, the largest Latin American country almost equal to the sum of the populations of other South American countries (Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile and Uruguay), which total barely exceeded 197 million. Meanwhile, the South American giant increased its population at 1,620,697 people in 12 months, compared to 190 755 799 July 2010, according to the official agency. Read Article
