Brazil: Air Force and Federal Police Join Forces With Use of Drones

Globo reported on May 23, 2013 the first joint action by the Brazilian Air Force and the Federal Police to use drones to help monitor crimes in Paraná, alongside the border with Paraguay. With infrared cameras and thermal sensors, police can locate drugs in cars and boats from above; a more helpful way to track criminals. Drones were first used this past Tuesday over Itaipu Lake, in which about 200 kilograms of marijuana was confiscated. Read Article
