Bolivian Police Detain a Member of Peruvian Shining Path

According to RPP.com.pe the Bolivian Government today, July 1st revealed that one of the five Peruvians accused of trafficking cocaine is a member of the Peruvian Shining Path. On Tuesday, June 28th police captured one Bolivian and five Peruvians suspected of trafficking cocaine, officials report. Three of the detainees posed as agents of the Bolivian Special Forces before being apprehended. The detainees were captured in the community of Antaquilla. Officials say that police moved in after farmers in Antaquilla complained about vehicles with cocaine passing them. Officials have not released the name of the Shining Path member, however Bolivian press is saying that the detainee is Ulser Pillpa Paytan, “Commander Johnny.” Bolivian officials are sharing information with the Peruvian government concerning the five detainees.Read Article
