Bolivia: Only 15 percent of crime reported by victims, little trust in system

Security. There is a high dissatisfaction among people who claim, as only three of every 100 crimes are punished. This is shown by a survey commissioned by the Government….In the last year, four out of ten households in the central axis of Bolivia were victims of some type of crime. However, only 15% were reported to the police and, of these, only 20% resulted in the victim satisfaction. This means that only three of every 100 crimes committed have punishment or reparation. That’s what threw the crime perception survey conducted by the Ministry of Government in 7193 households in Santa Cruz, Cochabamba, La Paz and El Alto (margin of error of 2.5%). Read Article
