Bolivia declares national emergency as result of disasters caused by severe rains

The defense minister, Ruben Saavedra, reported today that the Government declared a national emergency by rains that have caused havoc in the nine departments, and said that there are about 1,000 homeless families in Pando. He explained that backed the 2140 law was declared national emergency, a move that will allow municipalities and governorates to provide resources to meet requirements and needs of the victims. They may also purchase goods and services. The Cabinet met today in Palacio Quemado received information from the damage caused during the rainy season, especially in Pando by the overflowing of the river Acre, which affected districts and border towns as Blanket Bolpebra.
