Bogota Airport: customs employees accused of corruption and exorting money from importers

Caracol Radio reports met a group of importers who complain about what they call “mafia bribes” in the customs dock El Dorado International Airport.

It is a mafia comprising inspectors and other officials of medium and high level, who hamper the import documents and only released upon payment burden buried in a “toll”, which can range from 500 thousand dollars to the 50 million.

“The entrepreneur in order not to lose 20 days with the goods in a courtyard immobilized prefer to pay in bribes, to 40 or 50 million dollars,” said the complainant. Read Article
