After the second accident involving stray horses in the road in two days, the owner of the animals has stepped up, according to unoentrerios.com.ar. A man was killed in an accident early yesterday morning after his car hit a stray horse on Route 14 near Pedernal, Entre Ríos. Three other people in the car were severely injured. A similar accident occurred nearby on Route 18 on Tuesday and resulted in the death of two 19-year-old men riding a motorcycle. The owner of the horses came forward to police yesterday afternoon in San Benito and is now faced with fines of up to 4 thousand pesos for having his animals in the road. Police are implementing a stricter policy to keep animals off the roads that includes repairing and reinforcing animal fences and requiring owners to brand their animals so they are easy to locate if needed.
