Three Coast Guard pilots are being charged today for the murder of French nuns and several of the founders of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo who were thrown from aircraft into the sea during “death flights” in December 1977. The military dictatorship in Argentina during the late 1970s and early 80s used “death flights” as a way to dispose of thousands of political prisoners. A lawyer and a naval officer linked to the “death flights” are also being charged, according to ansalatina.com.
