Argentina: Large shipment of marijuana discovered in car trunk

La Auténtica Defensa reports that law enforcement officials in Argentina intercepted a significant shipment of marijuana destined to be distributed in the Escobar and Campana areas of Buenos Aires. The drugs had been transported from the southern suburbs of the province. This discovery occurs after investigators realized the Escobar area was being used as a major point of drug distribution. After this realization, officials began to use covert surveillance to monitor telephones and activity, particularly in the city of Bernal. Final investigations leading to the capture of the marijuana shipment occurred in a nearby hostel. The car transporting the drugs was a black Renault 19. Seven packages of marijuana, together weighing 6944 kilograms, were found in the trunk. Two elderly suspects were taken into custody. Read Article
