Argentina, Hunger strike against agrochemicals continues

Engineer Claudio Lowy reached his ninth day of a hunger strike yesterday against agrochemicals, according to unoentrerios.com. After a lack of response from the Department of Agriculture in Argentina to Lowy’s pleas to change the classification of chemicals used on crops and a petition containing 9.3 thousand names of people affected by chemicals, the strike began. The department has refused to change their methodology of pesticide distribution and failed to respond when asked what chemicals are used, making Lowy think they have no intention of letting the public know.
