Antofagasta, Chile: Authorities Detain 5 People, Seize More than 6 Kilos of Drugs

From Terra on July 10, 2013- Members of Chile’s anti-drug police, OS-7, arrested five people and seized 30,800 doses of cocaine paste. The five were members of a Chilean-Bolivian drug organization that was distributing drugs in Antofagasta. Based on gathered intelligence, police were waiting for two members of the organization at checkpoint on North Route 5 in the town of Baquedano. The two Bolivians were arrested on the scene, along with the seizure of six packets of drugs and two cell phones. Based on information gained from that arrest, authorities conducted raids on four homes in Antofagasta. During the raids, two more Bolivians and one Chilean was arrested. Authorities also seized 6 kilos 156 grams of cocaine, 30,800 doses, valued at more than 30 million pesos.
