Air traffic in Argentina remains suspended by volcanic ash from Chile

Aerolíneas Argentinas and Austral Líneas Aéreas, Argentina’s domestic airline, have announced that all flights are canceled until further notice because of the ash cloud from the Puyehue volcano in Chile that began erupted over the weekend, per pagina12.com.ar. LAN has also cancelled flights, mostly those destined for Córdoba, Tucumán, Mendoza, Salta and Iguazu. Passengers whose flights have been cancelled will receive a voucher for an open ticket that can be used within the next year. For the moment, the airports in Bariloche, Chapelco, Esquel, Trelew, Viedma y Bahía Blanca will remain closed because of the dangerous condition of the ash, according to the Department of Transportation.
