Argentina, Strangest food in Chinatown, Belgrano

It is common for many Porteños to visit Chinatown for fresh fish and vegetables, herbal teas, spices and sushi, but not so common to them are sweets like Sanko-Seika’s puffed rice and peanuts featuring a tacky samurai on the package or a Taiwanese treat called “bar of lactic acid” where flavored juice is sucked through plastic tubes. A variety of meat, unusual vegetables and bamboo can also be found in the neighborhood. The Ichiban market sells vacuum-packed duck and chicken parts, dried squid and Ding Ding Fuzhou’s pork meat floss.
