This is taken from a post of a facebook page of expats living in Ecuador. There is no indication from the victim’s statement if he was robbed. “From an American friend of mine, who was already previously assaulted when burglars broke into his home in the Mariscal”

“Last week I went to DIRECTV on Coruña Street, the main office about 4 or 4:30 I had an appointment. When I left about 6 p.m. it was getting dark but I decided to walk home. I was attacked by three large men, they jumped out from some bushes. They were to strong for just me and they almost broke my neck. Somebody called an ambulance and the ambulance took me to Metropolitan Hospital and I was there until today. I am very lucky once again. I am on some pretty strong pain pills. At least now I can move my neck but in a lot of pain even with the pills. I start physical therapy on Thursday for two weeks.”
