Brasilia, Brazil: Brazil and Congo Sign Bilateral Agreement to Combat Deforestation

agenciabrasil.ebc.com.br reported on September 17, 2013 that Brazil and Congo signed the Memorandum of Understanding in attempt to reduce deforestation and promote environmental sustainability as both countries have the largest rainforests in the world. The bilateral effort aims to share technology and resources such as satellite imagery, staff training and management practices. The issue of cooperation is of utmost importance in the view of climate change and biodiversity conservation. The Amazon Fund will pay for the project. Read Article
