Venezuela closes border crossings with Colombia for one week

elcolombian.com reported that Venezuela’s government on Tuesday closed its border crossings with Colombia because of Sunday’s election, a decision that leaves a week to both nations cut off by land with consequences for the movement of people and trade. The border closure occurred at 6:15 am on Tuesday and will be reopened on Tuesday, confirmed Colonel Carlos Ernesto Rodriguez, commander of the Metropolitan Police of Cucuta border with Venezuela and where the greater access land between the two countries.
