Ecuador: More than 7000 deaths attributed to AIDS since collecting information in 1987

Ecuavisa.com reported that the figures from the Ministry of Health (MOH) collects data from 1987, when there were 7 deaths directly attributed to AIDS-until 2010.

According to MOH statistics, each year the number of deaths in the country for HIV / AIDS. Only in 1994 and 1995 the number decreased compared to the previous year. The first fell to 80, and the following year to 78, respectively.

In 1997 counted 153 cases of deaths from HIV / AIDS. A decade later the number increased to 649, up to 727 in 2010. In total, 7031 people have died nationwide in Ecuador as a result.

Of the reported HIV cases by province in Ecuador in 2011, Guayas is concentrating more infected people (1,798), followed by Gauteng, with 549, El Oro, 323, and Esmeraldas, 263. Read Article
