Madre de Dios Peru: operation carried out to destroy machinery for illegal mining

During an operation led by the Special Prosecutor for Environmental Matters Mother of God reported that machinery used by illegal miners operating in the buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve, was destroyed. Through a statement, the prosecutor said the interdiction work was executed at kilometer 107 of the left bank of the South Interoceanic Highway, the stretch between the towns of Puerto Maldonado and Mazuko.
