Illegal immigrants from at least 70 countries have used Mexico as entry to U.S.

Gustavo Mohar Bentancurt, Assistant Secretary for Population, Migration and Religious Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior (Interior Ministry) said that 1.5 daily migrants die trying to cross the border into the United States.

Opening the First International Conference on the Smuggling of Migrants, the official also said that one of every 11 Mexicans live in the U.S., and although the numbers have been on decrease, we have recorded between 40 and 50% downward migration to the north country, which may be due to the crisis that has occurred since 2009.

Mexico, in addition to being a country that exported migrants, is also a transit country, it serves as a point to enter the United States, more migrants through Mexico are Central Americans, although in recent years have been able to locate people up to 70 nationalities. Read Article
