6.5 earthquake strikes Cordoba, northeast of Valparaiso, Chile

Strong earthquake in Chile struck Cordoba
Epicenter was 48 kilometers northeast of Valparaiso and its magnitude was 6.5 degrees on the Richter scale. There were no fatalities.
A strong and prolonged shaking of one minute almost woke the central Chilean north, with a magnitude of 6.5 according to the Seismological Service of the U.S., prompting emergency officials to order a precautionary evacuation of costs.

According to the Chilean newspaper El Mercurio , the magnitude of the quake was 6.5 magnitude on the Richter scale and was centered 48 kilometers northeast of Valparaiso. Read Article
