427 Kilos of Marijuana Seized in Santiago, Paraguay

May 22, 2013- According to lainformacion.com on May 21, 2013 Paraguayan authorities seized 427 kilos of marijuana in southern Paraguay in town of Santiago. In addition to the drugs, authorities apprehended one person. In the last month, Paraguayan authorities have seized more than 52 tons of marijuana in operations throughout the country. Paraguay is one of the principle producers of the drug in the region, and Brazil is the main market for the drugs. In 2012, authorities in Paraguay seized 3.118 kilos of cocaine, 125 tons of marijuana and 3.152 units of crack and detained 458 people in various anti-drug trafficking operations. Read Article
