Young Argentine detained in Spanish airport

18-year-old Argentine citizen, Jorge Luis Parsisi, has been detained in Baragas International Airport in Madrid for the past 2 days. Parsisi had just arrived in Spain at the time of his arrest and has a valid passport and a return ticket to Buenos Aires for June 13, but was detained at the airport because he had paid for only one night at a hotel. Parsisi said he was going to stay with his stepfather and didn’t need the hotel for any longer. The coordinator of the Movement of Argentines Abroad told clarin.com that they have filed a written request demanding the boy’s freedom and a plea to transfer him to a safer detainment area. The department has asked the Argentine government to discuss the issue with Spanish authorities.
