Yellow-shouldered Blackbird (Agelaius xanthomus) numbers increasing in Puerto Rico

Recovery Project Blackbird of Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DNER) announced it has successfully increased the population of this endemic bird. The agency said the Blackbird(Agelaius xanthomus) is in danger of extinction, but have managed to increase the population of an estimated 300 birds in 1982 to 850 individuals in southwestern Puerto Rico (Cabo Rojo – Lajas), according to Daniel J.
