Witness Testimonies Begin in Decio Sá Murder Case in Maranhão, Brazil

On January 28, 2013, G1 reported that the judge in the Decio Sá murder case will hear from most of the defendants involved in the incident over the next four days, as well as many of the witnesses.  In all, 56 testimonies will be heard.  Decio Sá was killed in April at a restaurant in São Luís, the capital of the state of Maranhão.  He was a journalist known for his coverage of political corruption.  The killer, Jhonatan Sousa Silva, as well as twelve others suspected of involvement in the crime, will be heard from.  Attorneys for several of the witnesses requested that their clients be separated from those accused during the depositions, and the judge agreed to the request.  Read Article
