Villavicencio, Colombia: Kidnapping Victim Reports Trafficking Attempt

On August 1, 2013 RCN Noticias reported the escape of a kidnapping victim who had been captured from the hotel in Villavicencio where her mother works as a manager. The victim was reportedly drugged and transported to Bogotá where she remained in captivity over a two month period. During this time, the victim received little food and was repeatedly tortured, including ice baths and beatings with cables. She later discovered that her captors were planning to sell her to a brothel in Bogotá.
The victim finally managed to escape after one of her captors inadvertently left open an exterior door and she ran out to find the police. Read Article
