Tourists assaulted in Ecuadorian Amazon offered free trip to Galapagos Islands by President Correa

EXTRA.EC reported that President Correa is making attempts to arrest the individuals responsible of the recent assault of foreign tourists in Ecuadorian Amazon. The American, Irish, and Chilean tourists were intercepted and held hostage last Monday by six armed assailants. They were robbed of all their belongings in a nature reserve located in Sucumbios ABOUT 180 kilometers northeast of Quito.

President Correa offered his apologies in a radio broadcast to the victims as well as compensation for stolen items. He also has provided for the vicims being offered a free trip to the Galapagos Islands.
on Monday by six armed criminals who robbed them of their belongings when they entered a lagoon nature reserve in the province of Sucumbios, 180 kilometers northeast of Quito.

Other news sources have not reported any physical injuries to the victims. The assailants were heavily armed include a submachine gun and grenades.
