Tourism in Argentina up 12.8%

Tourism in Argentina during the first trimester of 2011 has gone up 12.8% since last year, according to prensalibre.com. The Argentine Department of Tourism reported that 1.7 million tourists visited the country in the first three months of the year and spent around 1500 million pesos ($368.9 million). More than half of the tourists came from non-neighboring countries, solidifying Argentina as a level one international tourist destination.
